MOONLIGHT
EXPERIMENTAL ANIMATION
Moonlight is an experimental mixed media animated short that interprets an original haiku through a tactile, process-driven approach. The film unfolds through a sequence of shifting visual styles, each responding to the poem’s dark emotional tone, combining charcoal animation, strata-cut clay, and ink-based stop motion captured through both standard and down-shooter setups. Its final passage is constructed entirely by hand, with printed frames cut and individually colored to introduce a layered, physical texture. Accompanied by a carefully transformed voice recording, the piece becomes an atmospheric and immersive exploration of material, rhythm, and mood.
