CLAWS & EFFECT
ROUGH FIGHT SCENE - COLLABORATIVE
This project was a collaboration between a classmate and me, where we both designed original characters that would end up in a fight scene. I created Theodore Aetos, an affluent Greek professor, not too skilled in street-fighting, but fearless nevertheless. My classmate created her original character who was extremely discrete and used to getting the upper hand in street fights, giving her an advantage over Theodore. She also usually dresses as a cat (since she’s a cat burglar) and is extremely good at getting what she wants.
For the fight scene, we primarily wanted to focus on emphasizing fluid motion, timing, and exaggerated poses to heighten the intensity of their interaction and make the stakes of the fight more palpable. Through principles like squash and stretch, anticipation, and impact timing, the animation delivers a visually engaging clash that highlights each character's unique movements and fighting style.
