From conceptualization to execution, this project was a collaboration between a classmate and me. Having reached out to Wild Bird Fund together, we were extremely excited to explore how our artistic vision would match up with Wild Bird Fund’s technical needs while maintaining our individual styles as well. We agreed from the onset that we wanted to maintain an overall artistic style while sticking to a tight narrative informed by experiences the birds at Wild Bird Fund had before reaching there for recovery.

Maintaining the artistic style, for us, meant great detailing in the main assets (the sparrow and dove) while using extremely textured brushes for the backgrounds and effects. We also considered how the overall narrative should be easily understandable since the purpose for the video would be to raise awareness and inspire the public to take action. This collaboration was therefore designed to evoke an emotional connection through rich textures, evocative music, and nostalgic colours. Created with thoughtful planning and trust, it aims to inspire empathy and support for wildlife conservation.
